Allopharmacology and Synergism driving the next generation of therapeutics

Complex biology requires new paradigms. Breakthroughs happen when we discover convergences of these complexities and then leverage those insights for therapeutic benefits.

Our Milestones

Establishing a Platform

Establishing a Platform

GRIK Therapeutics was founded on a platform to target diseases with unmet needs.

Elucidating novel biology

Elucidating novel biology

We have elucidated the mechanism of GIRK channel gating and contribution to disease pathology.

Generation of allosteric modulators

Generation of allosteric modulators

We have generated novel allosteric modulators of GIRK channels to alter the electrically excitable state of various cell populations.

SCIENCE THAT IS BUILT DIFFERENTLY

At GRIK Therapeutics we have elucidated how ion channels gate. There are key endogenous regulators that determine if the channel will open or close and thus conduct ions and alter the electrical behavior.

We use these complex and dynamic mechanisms that nature has devised to alter the opening and closing of ion channels to correct abhorrent cellular behavior arising from disease states. This approach is based on allosteric modulation of phospholipid in the cell membrane that regulate ion channels.
